Several people around Memphis star Ja Morant were aggressive toward Indiana employees after the teams` matchup at FedExForum in late January.
The Grizzlies leader`s friends reportedly pointed a red laser at Pacers employees from an SUV that was slowly driving past them. Indiana officials believe the laser was attached to the weapon, but cannot say for certain and do not know who was holding it. Morant was in the car at the time.
"We felt we were in serious danger, " one Indiana worker said anonymously.
The described incident occurred after the match forecast by fix soccer tips on January 29. The Grizzlies beat the Pacers 112-100, with an incident in the third quarter in which one of Morant`s longtime friends, Davonte Park, came onto the court and began yelling at visiting players.
The game was briefly stopped and Puck was put back in his place, but he and his father JaT Morant got into a verbal altercation with Memphis` opponents.
After the game, Park and several others came within about 10 meters of the Pacers bus and again got into a verbal altercation. The incident continued for about 15 minutes until Ja Morant walked out of the stadium and got into an SUV with Pac and another person. That`s when the car started moving toward the Indiana bus and the laser episode happened.
The Pacers did not file a police report, but the team reported the incident to the NBA, which conducted an investigation. Several people were eventually banned from the arena, but the league would not confirm their identities or whether a weapon was involved.
The Grizzlies declined to comment, saying they trust the NBA`s investigation.
NBA security officials conducted an investigation, interviewing numerous eyewitnesses and reviewing surveillance footage. Although we determined that there was a violent situation following the match, based on interviews and other evidence collected, we were unable to confirm that anyone threatened others with a weapon.
Some people involved have been banned from attending games at the Memphis arena, NBA spokesman Mike Buss said.
