After more than eight months of waiting, Kristaps Porzingis finally made his debut for Dallas. The Latvian was drafted by the Mavericks in late January, but after his transfer from New York, he continued to recover from a knee injury to record the first minutes for his new team in a 117:124 defeat by Detroit in a NBA preseason game.

Porzingis was in Rick Carlisle`s starting five, with two other Europeans - Luka Doncic and Maxi Kleber. The 221-centimeter Baltic played less than 20 minutes, but that didn`t stop him from scoring 18 points, which he combined with 7 tackles, 2 assists and 1 steal. Doncic scored 21 points to finish as the highest scorer for the Maus, and also gave up 8 assists, while Tim Hardaway Jr. joined with 17 points off the bench.

Derrick Rose impressed with 18 points and 5 assists in his second meeting as a Detroit player, and the highest score for the Pistons was Luke Kennard - 19. Blake Griffin stayed with 17 and Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson added 13.
